Jiuqu Hongmei is traditionally produced of summer harvest Longqing leafs and here location makes the difference in taste. Real Jiuqu Hongmei from West Lake district in Hangzhou city combines the citrus taste of orange pekoe as buds and first leafs are called in India in black tea context, to a slight smokiness, which you know from Lapsang Souchong or called Zhengshan Xiaozhong in Chinese.
